Maceo Parker is één van de grootste soul, funk- en jazzsaxofonisten ter wereld. Na jarenlang trouwe dienst als vaste alt-saxofonist in de begeleidingsbandband van wijlen James Brown, besloot de Amerikaan in de jaren '90 'solo' verder te gaan. Maceo speelde in de jaren '80 ook mee in George Clinton's P-funk collectief en met zijn eigen band - Maceo & All The Kings Men – tourde hij over de wereld.

Vanaf 1999 speelde Maceo Parker mee op enkele platen van Prince om vervolgens in de periode 2001 tot 2005 deel uit te maken van Prince' begeleidingsband ‘The New Power Generation’ (in die periode deelde hij ook het podium met onze ‘eigen’ Candy Dulfer). Andere wereld-artiesten waar Maceo Parker mee samenwerkte zijn; Ray Charles, The Red Hot Chili Peppers en De La Soul.

Dat Maceo Parker's unieke saxgeluid garant staat voor een funky avond staat vast, want volgens eigen zeggen bestaat zijn muziek uit slechts 2% jazz en 98% onvervalste funk: samen 100% entertainment!

Voor het Haagse publiek is Maceo Parker in elk geval geen onbekende, de 64-jarige saxofonist speelde al meerdere malen tijdens het North Sea Jazz Festival in Den Haag.

Russell Tyrone Jones (November 15, 1968 – November 13, 2004) was an American MC known by the stage name Ol' Dirty Bastard (often shortened to ODB). He was one of the founding members of the hip hop group Wu-Tang Clan.

Ol' Dirty Bastard simultaneously brought a measure of humor and a touch of the absurd to the Wu-Tang Clan. Often noted for his unusual microphone technique (critic Steve Huey writes of Jones' "outrageously profane, free-associative rhymes" delivered "in a distinctive half-rapped, half-sung style"[1]), Jones' stage name came from a 1980 kung fu film entitled Ol' Dirty & The Bastard, the relevance of which was articulated by Method Man's assertion that there was "no father" to Jones's style.[2]

After establishing the Wu-Tang Clan, Ol' Dirty Bastard went on to a successful solo career. However, his professional success was hampered by his erratic personal behavior and frequent legal troubles, including incarceration. He died in late 2004 of congestive heart failure as a result of a drug overdose.

Afro Samurai asked XLARGE to produce tees for them to promote the release of the mini-series. They will be available exclusively in Japan.

Afro Samurai is a Japanese dōjinshi manga series created by Takashi Okazaki,
The anime series features noted American actor Samuel L. Jackson as the voice of the titular character, as well as one of the co-producers, and also features Ron Perlman and Kelly Hu as character voices. Wu-Tang Clan member RZA produced the original hip hop musical score, which was released on compact disc by Koch Records on January 30, 2007 in both uncut and edited versions. The series was also licensed for North American distribution by Funimation, who released two versions: a SpikeTV version and an unrated directors cut on DVD. Both were released on May 22, 2007. In August 2005, Japan-based game developers Namco announced they would be releasing Afro Samurai related video games in both Japan and America.



There are plans to produce a live-action Afro Samurai movie, also starring Samuel L. Jackson as the title character[6], although production has not yet begun.

A video game adaptation of the series has been announced and will be released on the Xbox 360

Nike has updated the options for the Nike Air Max 1 iD. They have added reptile leathers to the choice of materials, to be more precise, you can now also choose alligator and croc skin to give your AM1 a more luxurious look. Also they increased the color selection. Definitely a nice addition and materials that until now have not appeared much on this classic sneaker.

MTV Raps) die zaterdagnacht de Amsterdamse binnenstad onveilig maakte. Tussendoor vond Ed gelukkig ook nog even de tijd om, op het feestje dat PUMA in samenwerking met Vice organiseerde, een paar te harde hiphopplaatjes te spinnen. Om middernacht was de Bitterzoet al afgeladen vol met hiphoptuig. Handjes in de lucht. Voetjes van de vloer. Op de oldskool hiphoptour! Hoooooo. En overdag was Ed te vinden in de PUMA store, waar hij een Nederlandse collega trof en een ouderwetse freestyle dropte.

Robert Dennis Crumb is an American artist and illustrator recognized for the distinctive style of his drawings and his critical, satirical and subversive view of the American mainstream.

In 1968, R. Crumb self-published the first issue of Zap Comix and its success quickly established Crumb as the best-known artist of the underground comics movement.

Crumb's artwork references details commonly found in early 20th-century cartoon styles. However, his stories are frequently satirical, sexual and politically outrageous.

In the pages of Zap, the East Village Other, OZ, Motor City, Yellow Dog and scores of other comics, Crumb created characters that soon became symbols of a subculture: Mr. Natural, Angelfood McSpade, Flakey Foont, and Crumb's Fritz the Cat, have all become widely known cult icons. For over three decades, R. Crumb has shocked, entertained and challenged the imaginations (and the inhibitions) of comic fans all over the world.

Supreme produced a series of two t-shirts and a zip-up hoodie incorporating the artwork of R. Crumb.

This series will be available mid-October at Supreme stores.
